As it says on the tin, General and off Topic area, talk about anything in here (within reason!)

I've kept out of this thread until now..well almost. But must say that I loved my Ford Ranger pickup. Built like a tank and now donated to my son. Over 120k over the past 15 yrs and no probs at all. It did help chipping it so that tractors couldn't overtake on hills. And ok, I know it's really a Mazda.

In the interest of maintaining balance, I had a 2003 Ford Ranger (aka Mazda B2500) which is still running well for its new owner. Was ok in my tenure apart from experiencing injection pump failure. both rear leaf springs broken, front wheel bearing failure and catastrophic gearbox failure at 105,000 miles. But it was used for towing heavy trailers over much of its life.

Always suspected Mazda truck engineering could have been better...

Nissan Navara which I have now is in a different league for performance and reliability...

This is my friends new van

Bought from a Ford dealer after it was traded in for a new one

Spent the first quarter of it's life working for her Majesty's government transporting confidential documents and packages throughout the land
Rest Home for rusty vehicles

2018 Mercedes X-Class Pick Up is heavily based on current Nissan Navara. European Mercedes models will be manufactured at Nissan’s factory in Barcelona.

Mercedes benefit from Nissan's expertise in engineering and manufacturing of high quality trucks. Fortunately Renault's involvement is limited to Nissan cars but not trucks.

So a desirable and well engineered Mercedes product - that's excellent news Alan...

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that new MB pick up must have been designed by a brick manufacturer.

Reckon Mercedes truck looks better than Nissan Navara NP300 on which it is based. Brutal brick-like appearance appeals to the pick-up market anyway...
