The more observant will have noticed the power bulge on the London bus roof. It houses the fuel cell components including hydrogen tanks. High location was chosen because hydrogen molecules permeate very effectively through hoses, union, etc and then escape to atmosphere.
From a vehicle stability aspect these heavy component should be positioned low under the bus floor. But that was rejected because the passenger component was likely to fill with explosive hydrogen/oxygen mixture.
If one of these buses let go in the centre of London, Grenfell Tower disaster would be put in perspective. Brave man who signed-off safety compliance...
