What I did today....

As it says on the tin, General and off Topic area, talk about anything in here (within reason!)

Said goodbye to our Toyota Starlet today after four years reliable motoring, sold with six months mot to one of the mechanics at a Toyota specialist where I get all my motors Mot'ed. He was delighted especially paying me a paltry £100 !
The fleet now stands at 5 Austins, 4 Toyotas, 1 Skoda and a ridiculous Audi S5 3litre V6! Of which seven are roadworthy and legal......

managed to avoid a bit of automotive carnage - thanks to being in something higher than the car in front I spotted someone up front who had lost a lump of what looked like a bit of industrial air-con system from the back of their trailer so slowed down at a rapid rate of knots. Have a suspicion that someone a few cars back didn't quite pull up in time. Do hope the boys in blue turned up to issue the trailer-driver a ticket...

Was interviewed for tonight's BBC Look North. The penalty for living on Downing Street I suppose.

Several prominent politicians have taken big knocks recently: Theresa May, Nicola Sturgeon, Diane Abbott, Hilary Clinton and Arlene Foster until her resurrection today. Hey there's a common theme here

Could Angela Merkel be next :?: Nah she's far too strong...

Added another 150mm to the designed height of proposed garage. Architect complained that the roof pitch being less than 8 degrees would need different roofing material than the rest of the extension.

Told him only the neighbours would see the difference & I couldn't care less...

Once said garage is built, the A30 can come home to get restored, far more important than any old (roofing) iron.
