What I did today....

As it says on the tin, General and off Topic area, talk about anything in here (within reason!)

Anything as long as it's not a Turkish Ford
When I have my week on the van, it's usually been a late Model Peugeot Boxer, never thought I'd get to like one of those......not bad except for the sliding door mechanism keeps failing and the handbrake is carp when laden. This week I have been given an ex UPS long wheelbase sprinter......oh dear the colour says it all  gutless and with one euro pallet loaded with 600kg up against the bulkhead I managed to ground it yesterday  has one of those silly bumper steps on the back and going into a very steep cul de sac which is no problem with a fully laden boxer, the sprinter ended up with its near side rear wheel off the ground. Cue lots of cursing, thousands of miles off the front tyres and clutch and after ten mins I managed to get it moving again...however I still had to come back out after offloading this time facing the other way. With a local telling me when clear, it was quick, but brutal and sounded hideous...the back end was several thou thinner but still attached and the step was amazingly straight.....oh and the EPS light keeps coming on....transport said we have to keep using it until mid to late May and then we should get a new short wheel base version
The flying turd might have been bashed into submission by then.....

Failed to get to the Yorkshire group meeting due to a pig causing the M62 to be shut down completely, trapping us near Leeds.

now now, we should use the correct term for them 'evening all' or are you referring to a Reliant??

Wonder if they have an overhead gantry sign for that? .. they seem to have one for everything else ..

They just never use them at the right time .. so don't advise of a blockage when there is, so you get stuck, and tell you about one when there isn't (or it's on the opposite carriageway where it isn't causing a problem for your side!) .. so you leave the motorway to avoid nothing!
