My mother's family come from West Bromwich and a few relatives still live there. There's even some Irish blood a couple of generations back...

Re: What I did today....
I'd had planned to go on saturday but it was pushed back to sunday. By the time we arrived, soon after midday the event was running down (it's a three day event) and aided by nearly an hour delay when nothing moved following an incident in which a lineside photographer was apparently injured and had to be airlifted to hospital. Compounded by the usual operational delays at these events it all conspired to put a dampener on the whole thing. We were up at 06.00, out of the house by eight and didn't get home till almost 11pm...A40FARINAGURU wrote: dad was there Saturday
I usually park at the Bridgenorth end of the line as I find it easier to access from the M54 than Kiddy. Two weeks ago we were at the Llangollen Railway gala weekend, and whilst it's a good bit further, the experience was a whole lot nicer... The journey was the same as far as Telford, which I can usually do from home in two hours but the latest squeeze lives another half hour east of me, adding an hour to the travelling time... All in all a tiring and tedious day...

Very enjoyable day at a warm and sunny Snetterton with Dave Clark in his Honda S2000. With just a tad of encouragement, he got smoother and faster as the day progressed and we finished at a cracking pace...
Well done Dave...

Re: What I did today....
Working 12:00 till 20:00 today, so Austin, Kate and I went over to see my Mum this morning. When we came Home we were greeted by a letter from the landlady giving us two Months notice to move out, as She wants to do some improvements to the building, and would rather the house was empty when the builders do the work........
Bit shocked! Not sure how we are going to find another place, or the deposit for one, in such a short time frame. Just opened a bottle of Wine.....

Thanks John, we lost the Renault Scenic the other week, to a case of too costly to repair. So all a bit bleak at the moment. But Summer is here, so who needs cars and houses!
