so we are nearly done with the welding, all that is left is repair & re fit the rear lower valance,repair the leading edge of the bonnet & repair both upper & lower tailgates & then it is prepping & getting the body ready for paint hopefully in April when i'm on holiday :)

just an update, here are a couple more photos, the shell is all welded up now just got to sort the paintwork the bottom of the lower tailgate repair section was gas welded in it took me about 4 hours to do tack by tack & then continuous welded

thanks Dave,the colour will stay the same Sutherland Green & hopefully it will see paint in a month or two once i have finalised the prepping

thanks Richard, Sutherland Green only ran for a couple of years, i think it replaced Ocean Blue during 1959

Looking at the pictures of your A40 shell reminds me of those pictures of the A40 bodies on the "Rotodip" spits at Longbridge. Didn't seem to do much good that rotodip did it :roll:

the early shells were a lot better than the ones from about 64-65ish the same with the AV8 vans the late ones rotted more

well being as the weather was nice over the weekend i have managed to do some painting,all underneath is done & put a dust coat on the main bodywork
