181 has not been getting hot enough to provide a hot heater when required for some time. I went to Bath this year and just before I got in 181 to set off took my coat off and had just a T shirt. Yes I was freezing as it turned out to be cold day in mid week. Anyway the weather warmed up so hey ho!
So today took off the thermostat housing and that was a fight had to remove a stud with two lock nuts to help get some movement. with housing off looked and no thermostat surprise surprise! Yes at that point I remembered about two years ago I took it out to eliminate an issue on overheating, (turned out was the rad), and I forgot but was aware it wasnt hitting full temp, but hey ho other things to do and it was a back burner job
Will test run tomorrow

I run the car yesterday and today the temp is holding at just above the halfway mark. The stat I put was 82 degrees but the book says a figure of the stat opening at 75 degrees but winters coming and I want a hot heater I think it will be ok for winter not so sure for a hot summer?
