Re: 863 EMD Restoration
I thought I would try fitting the door rubber seal to the passenger side on EMD as water can leak in there with heavy-ish rain falls one of several snag jobs yet to be done
The old door retaining clips were still in the door holes so got them out but after several attempts to fit the seal with these original clips gave up and thought get some impact adhesive like I did the boot lid! Not sure if the replacement rubber seal I have is meant to be used with these clips that "pinch" the inner part of the seal as you push them into the door holes?
Any one fitted the seal back with these clips tis not easy but me thinks that seal I have is not for those clips?

Re: 863 EMD Restoration
That's the type of seal used on the 4 door doors, and the leading edge of the 2 door door. It won't work with the clips.

Re: 863 EMD Restoration
With the right type of seal it is not so difficult to fit it with those clips.
That said with new seals it is always a problem to get the doors to close.
I have always used used seals, which is no help because it is so rare to find them in usable condition.
I reckon the best solution is to use quadrant moulding in closed cell rubber and glue them in.

you have 2 seals on a 2 door, they join about half way down where the quarterlight is, that rubber you have is still used on a 2 door

Re: 863 EMD Restoration
The two seal thing sounds right. I noted that there are no clip holes down the angled edge of the door at the front edge so guess thats where the seal I have is glued?
I suppose many members just glue what I have to the door all round is that right?
