The present state of play with 'Esmerelda' is, she's a completely stripped out bodyshell, currently away at the shot blasters... Watch this space...

I am interested in your views on shot blasting Neil
What media do they use, does it do any damage and do they apply primer immediately afterwards?
I am thinking about the next two Austin’s

Re: Esmerelda
Many years ago I saw a Mk 2 Cortina bodyshell that had been damaged beyond repair by a shot blaster, so it's imperative that you use someone who has experience of blasting car bodies. Copper slag is the main media of choice of the guy I use... He's very experienced and well aware of the damage that shot blasting can do to car body panels and will only use 'worn out' media and much lower pressure than for his regular work on plant, machinery and lorry trailers. They also have a paint shop and will apply a two pack self etching epoxy primer for me. Once the repairs are complete I will return the shell to them for light blasting of the repaired areas and more epoxy primer...Countryboy wrote:I am interested in your views on shot blasting Neil

Hopefully the blasting will give me some clues as to where to start...earthhist wrote:
