A40 rebuild
A40 rebuild
Hello to anyone who still remembers me, just to say that, after five years of unsuccessfully searching Portugal for a suitable A35, I have now settled on an A40 mk.2 Farina which needed saving and came at a price that made it possible. Needless to say the whole thing is now in bits whilst I weld back all the missing metal, the good news is that it is mostly fine mechanically and largely original having covered only 86,000 kms by one lady owner (honestly). If someone in the last 50 years had bothered to clean all the carp out of the plenum chamber/air intake then the front floors would not have rusted out from the inside. Some pictures on my Facebook page for anyone interested. That's me kept busy for a couple of years then. Incidentally, does anyone know roughly how many A40's survive ? They are very rare here, I have seen only two (pictures) on the net and one of those was an Italian built Innocenti version.

Very pleased to hear that you are still active and have not yet thrown off the Austin virus.
Look forward to seeing some pictures in due course.
