PCJ has had quite a week, bought it home Wednesday a trip of 30ish miles on the back roads, took it back to Worcester on the M42 & M5, it didn't miss a beat, today i thought i'd sort out the 'clonking' from the nearside front wheel, adjusted the kingpin by taking a shim out & also replaced the shock as it had leaked all the oil & the arm was thrusting back & forth, it's sorted & quiet now

As you can see by the 'cleanliness' of the rebuilt engine it is clocking the miles up, i try & give it a blast every weekend through the back lanes (tracks) & A & B roads too

A40FARINAGURU wrote:i finally got PCJ out & tested the steering box that now has grease in place of oil, it steered perfect with no problems, so yes i'm sticking with that idea
since the original post the liquid grease doesn't hold in my box, the seal must be rock hard so not i have reverted to cv joint grease which has a little more body & so far so good not lost any

PCJ let me down today in this blistering heat, i'd stopped off at a shop for a few mins & it started up fine but a few hundred yards down the road it started to die which it does sometimes when i'd stopped & it was quite hot but this time i couldn't bump it & rev it to get the fuel up so it died, had a fiddle & tried various things & just as i was undoing the fuel pipe to carb a couple in a very nice P6 (Rover 2000 shape) V8 stopped to see if they could help & i just primed the pump as they'd pulled up & connected it & tried again & it fired up again, they followed me almost back to my barn, a thank you to whoever they were
