It's the complete rear floor pan from the upstand to the joint with the bottom of the heelboard. We've recently developed tooling to make these more efficiently from ideas that young Will and I picked up earlier in the year at a metalshaper's convention in Norway. This was the prototype...

Hopefully they will become available once past the prototype stage? We need all the panels that we can get to keep our babies on the road...

Re: A Racing Certainty...
This shell has had some appalling repairs in a past life which now need major surgery to repair the damage and subsequent further corrosion. Usually this would involve mending both panels and making the join as the factory intended. However, as this one is destined for the track it's beneficial to be rid of the seam, so the panel was made as one. I've made similar panels for vans before, but never for a saloon...
Some major shrinking was required...
followed by planishing and some additional stretch in the middle of the panel.
The panel was then washed over in the wheeling machine to even it out and provide a small amount of crown throughout the panel...
followed up by trimming the waste material. The panel was then marked for the flange on the lower edge...
The eagle eyed will spot that this is the other side of the car as the above panel is not quite finished as I still have the flange to tip but ran out of time today, so here's one I made earlier

Last one... available if anyone wants it due to cancelled order... All repairs and race mods completed. Blasted and 2 pack epoxy primed...
Chassis plate and V5 present. Also comes with all the original parts of the vehicle that you'd need to build a race car, eg, rear axle casing, steering box, gearbox crossmember, speedometer, etc...

One small thing, it's not Academy legal without the front splashguards - should be a matter of minutes for you to fit them though

Re: A Racing Certainty...
This race shell and the other dozen or more that passed this way was built to a specification from the leading Academy shell supplier, before such times as their removal was banned. James has since made a heap of panels for the shells that were supplied without them. This one will have them refitted if it's sold for HRDC use... However, since Academy is now 'old hat', if it remains unsold for much longer it's likely to have an alternative future...Canon MOWOG wrote: it's not Academy legal without the front splashguards -

Because photobucket has changed their business model overnight ... you can no longer host photos with links to them from forums like ours without paying $400 per month ... and that is the person storing a lot of $400s.dave coe wrote:why can I not see photo bucket pictures? They're holding the photos to ransom as well... I just tried to access my photos to save them back to my hard drive and it would appear that the folks of doubtful parentage have us over a proverbial barrel...gazza82 wrote:Because photobucket has changed their business model overnight ... you can no longer host photos with links to them from forums like ours without paying $400 per month ... and that is the person storing a lot of $400s.dave coe wrote:why can I not see photo bucket pictures? I've put it right as best I can with photos that weren't first choice when I made the original posts, but it's the best of a bad job i'm afraid...dave coe wrote:why can I not see photo bucket pictures?
