Front disc conversion steering aligment
Hello,
I recently installed front discs to my A35. They come from a MG midget.
The issue is regarding the wheel aligment.
The Midget steering arm didnt quite fit into the steering side rod, and they seemed shorter. So i decided to mount the original austin steering arms which seemed longer and fitted the side rods.
However, its weird because the wheels seem unaligned from each other...??
Anybody who has done the conversion from a midget, which steering ams did you use? Did you have to replace the side rods for the mg midget?
Thanks and regards from Catalonia.

Re: Front disc conversion steering aligment
Hi
I have done a similar job with my a A35 a couple of weeks ago and used the A35 steering arms and had no problem with alignment. I took the steering and connecting tube off at the same time to clean and paint them and all is fine. Are both your steering rods solid fixed length or are they adjustable?
Cheers
Ian

I have put the a35 steering arms but the alignment seems wrong... maybe i need to swap the assembly from left to right? At the moment the calipers are at the front of the wheel. My steering rods are not adjustable.
Thanks again

Is the number two question: "Why has my A35 got so much positive camber ?" ....Neil Evans wrote:It's about the number one question on the technical helpline...

No... It's why do my brakes drag... Have had another one this morning who'd adjusted the master cylinder till the brake and clutch pedals were level, rather than having 3/8 of free play...Big Daddy wrote:Is the number two question: "Why has my A35 got so much positive camber ?" ....Neil Evans wrote:It's about the number one question on the technical helpline...
