An 11 year old boy’s dream fulfilled

Post by GoodwoodLapper »

When I was 11 years old my mum had an A30 (736 DMY…anyone? What are the chances?) My dad would explain how it was a fairly common and straight forward modification ‘of the day’ to swap the engine and running gear straight from an MG Spridget into one of these. This fascinated an 11 year old boy who put a picture from CCC of a modified one on his wall. 35 years on, that little boy is very lucky to tick a box and finally have one tucked away in his garage. Well, an A35 van to the sharp eyed but what a one too! Thanks to everyone who helped put me in touch with you know who. Cant wait for the better weather!

Tis indeed and very pleased. The wheels are still on there at the back. Owner replaced the fronts with standards and lifted the front slightly. I bought the others too in case I want to experiment with David's original set up.

Very grateful I am for the help of both you and Gary putting us together. Had a great chat with David and have threatened to take it to him in the Spring to reunite them and get my own guided tour. Telephones dont show facial expression. I can only wonder what it was!
