Happy memories of the Queens Oak at Finchampstead in the good old days.
Somewhat annoyingly, having moved away more than a decade ago, my new favourite brewery - for its mind-bogglingly hoppy beers - is Finchampstead's Siren Craft: http://www.sirencraftbrew.com/

Hi there, thanks for the kind offer of help from Steve , we are doing the trip in a day and will be travelling south between Buxton and Ashbourne through Derbyshire so not quite near you. Shame ,it would be nice to get some support on the way. we estimate a 5/6 hour journey and hope to be home before dark. Thanks also for the message from Chris, we are in walking distance of the Queens Oak, its under new management and doing well we think. Have been in for a couple of drinks , new hosts are very friendly. Lynn.

Hi all, just a little update. The car only got as far as Derby before a petrol leak and strange grinding noise reduced us to a recovery truck.Took it to the local garage who are great with classics. Just a few niggly things missing, on the wrong way round or not adjusted correctly. Unexpectedly we have also moved to just north of Portsmouth and it did that trip fine. The car just needs a new headlining as I am not aware that bedsheets were the norm! and it looks a bit tatty.
