Hello from April

Post by RevPhilip »

April came and moved in a couple of weeks ago. She is a 1964 A35 van. I am her third owner and she needs a fair bit of work doing to her.

I am currently building a carport for her to live under, which hopefully will be finished within a week.

I would show a photo of April, but I haven't worked out how to do that yet!????

Thank you for the reply, but I am still having problems. Does it make any difference that I am using a Mac computer? I have opened a Flickr account, but can't seen to get any photos to it. Most are from my iPhone, do that have to be Jpeg photos?

Hi Jeff,

Yes that's my van :D

However I have not got the roof on the car port anymore after last nights gales

So once I'm back home from visiting family, I will be off to Wickes for new roof sheets.

Wow! That looks like a sweet little van. Is it really windy where you live? I used to build my pergolas with 4 by 2's when we lived on top of the moors in the Peak District. And bolt the roofing sheets down. Screws just pulled out of the wood in a gale.

Hi Steve,

She is a real cute van

It's not called Windy Worthing for nothing. I have almost finished carport No2 now. So I can get to work on April very soon.

I have tried to wind proof the sheets by cutting up the old sheets and using three thicknesses of about 2" square. We'll see how it gets on, but it's not making any noise currently :P

The trick is to use closer spaced screws in the carport. What does the van need to be done for it's resurrection?
