National Drive It Day - Thames Valley

Post by ansemic »

Hi everyone

We're in the process of arranging a "Drive it Day" event with the Thames Valley Mini Club.

Every year Drive It Day is purposefully held on the Sunday nearest to the 23rd April to commemorate the 64 cars that left London on the first Thousand Mile trial on 23 April 1900. The RAC Thousand Mile Trial started in London and passed through Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Scotland before returning to London on 12th May.

Of the 64 cars that started 46 made it to the finish line.

Thames Valley Group is arranging a slightly shorter route so it'd be appreciated if you could save a space in your diaries for Sunday 24 April 2016.

Further details will be sent round as soon as available.

Thanks and happy motoring.

Mike, are we trying to beat the record of 72% finish rate?
