Engine change

Postby Trev » Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:08 am

Hi, first visit to forum, I recently bought a A30 which has a 950cc engine fitted in place of the 803cc . The v5 says it still has an 850 . Does this affect it's mot exempt status, I read in the club magazine that this maybe the case, I have no idea when the Engine swap took place. Can anyone advise please. Trev

No it doesn't. There was a possibility that this would be changed but this was dropped. The rule is now likely to be just the same engine type. So any A-series.

Now there's a reason to fit a BMW 16-valve head with 4 throttle bodies to a 1430cc A-series bottom end
