A couple of things made me laugh... The big selling point of the Hillman being it's built in obsolescence... no grease nipples... and Lord Montague slamming the bonnet of the E Type... not to mention the suggestion that he'd have the slightest interest in having a dolly bird in his Jaguar...

As a matter of interest the most grease nipples I've ever had to deal with were on a brand new Rootes Group (albeit by then owned by Chrysler) vehicle in 1980. The difference being that this was a commercial vehicle, the buyers of which would not want them wearing out prematurely. The car of course would very likely be well out of guarantee before this happened. The 1980's Bentley that my brother's currently restoring only has grease nipples on the propshaft as standard, probably on the basis that a Bentley owner can afford to mend it when it goes wrong. We saw to it that each new and very expensive front suspension ball joint now has a grease nipple...
