When a mod spots them ...
I'll have to check how many posts before they just appear or what stops them .. Might be the Nely Registered Group setting.

gazza... why is it that some of my posts seem to appear quite quickly, but other ones don't appear at all?gazza82 wrote:When a mod spots them ...
Sometimes it takes a while to post something. it dosent get posted, so I try again, and still it dosent appear. any ideas
Also, one member PM'ed me with some useful advice, but when I tried to respond with a PM the system would not allow me. Fortunately, the member had included his personal email in the message.

Whenever we're online we'll approve them, might take a while if we're not on the forum or other times it might only be a couple of minutes.
When it doesn't post at all how long have you waited? Could it just be we haven't found it yet?
Don't worry it won't be forever sooner or later you'll be able to post away quite happily.
With regards to the PM system when you click send does it go to the 'Outbox'. It will sit there until the recipient opens it, once they open it it will move into the 'Sent Messages' area.

Re: Why do my posts take so long to appear ?
I responded to Demetri via a PM but just for everyones benefit the system is thus.
When you are a new forum user we add you to a Newly Registered Group. As a member of that group your posts need to be approved by a moderator. This is to avoid spam and other unsavoury posts ... most forums do this now .. most have been caught out!
Moderators are human and we don't have access to the forum 24/7 but during waking hours we try and keep an eye out but occasionally there will be gaps in our service.
In Demetri's case I approved a thread and removed his "New" status so subsequent posts went straight through. But I missed some posts on an older thread as the system didn't show these at the time. I caught up later.
So don't panic ... we will catch up.
And with PMs I think again you need to post a number of times before it allows you to send but you can receive. I'll check that's the case but again most forums based on the software act in the same way although we can adjust the numbers if we wish ...
Time to logoff now ... and I've checked the moderator queue
