IMHO I think that you will regret not putting later internals into your 803 box

Have you driven the car with the standard box to ascertain that it is quiet and noted the gear ratios ?

First gear is higher on any later boxes and I found the gear ratios much better ( I had a tired 1098)

Think it all depends what you want from the car. I'm quite happy with my 803 on original (but reconditioned) box, but I only use it for local pottering about. For motorways etc. the Minors are much better, but they are appropriately modified for the job.
