Hi Austineers!

The front bumper on my A35 has always been proud of the front valance (see pictures). I know this is incorrect as the starting handle holes don't match up . However, looking at the mounting it is difficult to see how the bracket could be positioned any further back.

Is it the bracket that is incorrect?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

I think not.

The brackets are handed and may be on upside down.

I also suspect that the bumper is not A35, going by the large clearance to the front wing where it curves round.

Maybe they are not original brackets ?

Interesting points, Dave.

Will check out the brackets. Any idea what the bumper may have come from?

Interestingly, looking at a selection of A35 images there does seem to be a wide variety of different variations with regards to over-rider position and I agree that the curve looks significant, but looks more normal at different viewing distances.

This image shows a Deluxe version with the thickest bumpers I have seen. I wonder how many variants are out there....

No idea where the bumper may have come from if it is not original. My A35 in the 80,s had a front bumper similar which most people agreed was not quite original but did not know what it was. I recently fitted a rear van bumper that was the right size and shape but had the wrong fixing holes - suspected to be Standard 10,so there are others around.

That bumper on the image that you posted I suspect is an air brushed image as I have never seen an "official" bumper like that.
