High idle speed - screw not working?

Post by liammedler »

Hi all,

My A30 seems to run with a high idle (would estimate around 1100rpm) and when I adjust the idle screw in it gets faster, when I screw it out it stays the same to the point I could unscrew it completely with no effect. Am I missing something here?

Hi, are you SU or Zenith, if its an SU the problem maybe the setting on the choke such that you are still getting a fast idle even when the choke is fully pushed in. There is another screw which adjusts this.

Yes it's an SU carb and yes even with the choke fully in the idle is very fast. Do you know whereabouts I could find the "other" screw (for want of a better term!)
