i stopped this leaking by fitting cork seals. I bought some cork sheet and cut out a half-shaft seal template.

Hi
When renewing the rear axle oil seal is there a preference for the all rubber version (on the right of the picture) or the metal and rubber type (on the left). I haven't removed the existing seal, but I suspect it will be metal and rubber as it's original.
