The old girl has been vibrating recently on driving.
checked everything i could under the bonnet, tried it in gear , out of gear , no joy ..
so I thought i would pop it down to my friendly garage
on the gentle drive down there an almighty bang from under the bonnet, peered inside to see 1/2 my metal radiator fan sitting on top of the battery.
Hello i thought , that doesnt belong there !
must have been partially detached and out of balance hence the vibs
do these things fail often guys?

Re: FAN tastic Bang !
Often happens when the reinforcing plate on the front of the fan has been left off.

Re: FAN tastic Bang !
Not all cars had them... the reinforcing plate was a factory upgrade, well into A30 production...
