Topping up Brake master Cylinder

Post by biffsA30 »

hi
i would like to check and if need be top up BMC
i know the access is through a removable plate under the brake pedal but..
previous owner has stuck sound proof mat there , i have tried to feel the outline so i can cut & remove only whats needed but struggling.
Can some advise where the plate is in relation the the pedal lets say so i can do keyhole surgery on it !

thanks

Are you sure it is still being used? If its covered they haven't fitted a separate filler or tank in the engine bay?

Bigdaz posted a shot of the floor area which may help, see: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10856

suspect you'll need to cut a hole approx. 8" x 4"

Just checking. Seems a little daft of the previous owner to cover it ... unless they didn't know and never touched it

Out of interest, how long have you been driving the car without having access to the filler? (And not checking or replacing the brake fluid?)
