Steven,s battery is VERY much smaller than almost any lead acid battery I have seen.

From memory it is about 15 amp hours, so, as he said, no churning to start(but it has never given any trouble)

Topic worthy of further investigation. We are always seeking cost-effective ways to reduce mass on the racers... :mrgreen:

Held in place with a little steel strap I knocked up.

I can't see the need to put a heavy battery and leads running to it at the rear of a car these days

I used an Odyssey battery on my BMW bike after two Bosch batteries could not supply the voltage necessary to activate the ABS - no further trouble up until I sold the bike
