does anyone have any pictures of tow bar set up's, tow bar mounts or fabrication that they have done or inherited? I've been asked a question regarding this.

not sure about the structural abilities of same, maybe Neil can comment?

Alan, it has been covered in the club mags which are available on this site. Spring 1983 p42-45,Autumn 1983 p50-51, Spring 1990 p26. Paul

have never managed to log into that part of the site Paul, I gave up trying a long time ago. its one of the things on this site that are more complicated than they need to be.

I think the articles to the club mags will be the ones which cover Dave Clarks Tow bar design. I made one about 30 years ago from Dave's design and still have it. I think its spot on but it has been commented on re its actual legal standing. I think it strengthens the car due to its design and fastening points

European Law states that all light passenger vehicles registered on or after 1st August 1998 require a type approved towbar tested to EC94/20 and a tow ball with suitable D&S value. This legislation is not retrospective and does not affect any vehicle registered before this date... :thumbs:
