Politics and comedy ?
I thought they were very similar : tragi-comedy perhaps ?

Recently politics has got exciting. Even the French elections could be a major upset to the comfortable, arrogant and smug political elite...
Re: Is It Me ?
Our next Prime Minister from June 9th according to Labour. Braced to go into battle on EU Brexit negotiations towards securing the best deal for Britain...
Re: Is It Me ?
Going back to the original question... No you can't be morphing into Meldrew because I beat you to it! Narrowly beat Corbyn as well..

Re: Is It Me ?
Just listened to some Guy on the radio, winging that earning over £70,000 a year doesn't make Him well off! And that He has to count the pennies! Really! He followed it up with The more you earn, the more luxuries that you want!
They also said that the top one percent earn an average of £120,000 per year. Surely there is some creative accounting going on there.

Re: Is It Me ?
So where are the Tony Blairs, Lord Sugars, Beckhams, Paul McCartneys, Richard Bransons etc. etc. That I would imagine bring home more than £140,000?
If the top one percent averages to £120,000 how do we get so many Millionaires, and now Billionaires?
I think that maybe I should train to be a plumber, apparently they average £70,000 to £80,000 working in London.......

Re: Is It Me ?
Plumbers don't earn that amount. if I did, I wouldn't be living where I was and I would own a better car (but not a s**** F***). those figures quoted are by that mouthy chap that owns Pimlico plumbers. to earn that you need to work around 16-18 hours a day. my cousin worked for them and asked me if I wanted a job there. I declined, he left and said the bloke was an a*******.David Swain wrote:So where are the Tony Blairs, Lord Sugars, Beckhams, Paul McCartneys, Richard Bransons etc. etc. That I would imagine bring home more than £140,000?

Re: Is It Me ?
Graph is asymptotic and doesn't stop at £140,000. But HMRC haven't bothered plotting beyond £140,000 because so few earn more. Makes the disgraceful sums given to top executives even more immoral - BP paid Bob Dudley £13,900,000 last year despite the company recording a record loss of £3,700,000,000. Fortunately BP shareholders have revolted against this game.David Swain wrote:So where are the Tony Blairs, Lord Sugars, Beckhams, Paul McCartneys, Richard Bransons etc. etc. That I would imagine bring home more than £140,000?
So according to HMRC, most people are just poor...

Re: Is It Me ?
Bob Dudley's £13.9 million salary puts that HRMC Income Distribution in the shade. His earnings are almost 100 times greater than someone on a mere £140k salary. With just 1% of Bob's income, they must be almost paupers.
